Mark's Deployment

Look through the pictures of his deployment ceremony. It's his last time here for a year. Stay in touch with him an keep him in your prayers. The first two pictures were taken at 5:45AM at the Guard base in North Las Vegas. They had a formation at 6AM then loaded the 5 buses to go to Mandalay Bay for the ceremony. I had to take him so he wouldn't leave his car there for the year. Enjoy the pictures.

Mark's Deployment

The troops are gathering in the tunnel for their marh in. Mark's company was at the end of the line (actually outside) so you can't see him in the tunnel shots.

Comments are for the next posting, not for the current pictures. See if you can find Mark in the ranks. (HINT: Four rows right, one back.) We had our new governor there (sworn in the day before)(That is the podium picture) and one senator. Funny, the Democrats didn't show. They were busy.

That soldier with Mark is Anthony, his best friend and mentor. The picture of the back door is out to the buses. When Mark left us, he grabbed a lunch and went out that door. That was the last we saw him.

These pictures were taken at Mark's Mobilization Ceremony at the Mandalay Bay Event Center on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011. They said in 365 days we'll do this again as a Welcome Home Ceremony. Mark is now in Reno until Monday when the entire battalion will fly to Ft. Lewis, WA for two additional months of training before flying out to Kandahar.
